What Size Board Should I Choose?

The size of your board comes down to a number of different factors: skill level, height, weight, and ride style. Find out below which board is right for you!
Skill Level
Skill level plays a major role in the size of the board we recommend you ride. As a general rule, beginners should choose a larger size board while intermediate and advanced riders should choose a smaller size board.

Larger size boards will have greater buoyancy which will help beginner riders to get a feel for surfing and moving around on the wave.

Smaller size boards will have less buoyancy than larger size boards but will generally be more agile and easier to perform tricks.
Height
Height also plays a major role in the size of the board you should choose. We recommend that shorter riders choose a smaller size board while taller riders choose a larger size board.

shorter riders generally require less buoyancy to keep them afloat which is why smaller boards work well for them. Additionally smaller size boards are reasier to manuveur which makes it easier on shorter riders.

Taller riders on the other hand generally require more buoyancy to keep them afloat which larger size boards provide.
Weight
Similar to height, weight plays a major role on the optimal board size for each rider. We recommend lighter riders choose a smaller size board while heavier riders choose a larger size board.

Heavier riders require more buoyancy to keep them on the wave and in control which larger boards can provide.

Lighter riders require less buoyancy to keep them on the wave and in control. This is why we recommend smaller size boards for lighter riders.
Ride Style
As you get more skilled as a rider you might find that you like smaller boards more than larger boards and vice versa. Your riding style plays a large role in the size of the board we recommend. As a general rule, we recommend small boards for more agressive ride styles and larger boards for more floaty ride styles.

Smaller board sizes will generally be more agile and allow a rider to carve harder. This allows the rider to surf a more aggressive style.

Larger size boards will generally be quicker and have more of a floaty feel to them.
